FIXING BARE AREAS ON SPORTS OVALS

PROBLEMS with Gate entries, coach’s boxes, and centre pitches

Over the last few years we have been installing quite a lot of new synthetic grass pads around boundary lines in spots where natural grass is impossible to grow due to high foot traffic or vehicle traffic. These photos below show typical worn areas on a sports field, with synthetic grass solutions to the problems.

These include entry gates, interchange areas and coach’s boxes, as well as goal squares and cricket pitch surrounds.

Maddocks Sports can excavate the worn-out section, install a compacted crushed-rock base, and fit thick, soft synthetic grass. This will be a permanent fix to the problem.

The grass is filled with rubber (hence the ‘black’ look), which disappears into the grass after a short time.

We have two options with the quality of the synthetic grass surface we install:

  • AFL/Cricket Australia approved Soft Surface
This comes with a certificate confirming the surface complies with AFL/CA specifications, and may be required for insurance purposes.
  • Standard Soft Surface
Not certified, but still a terrific solution to these problems. A more economical result is achieved.

The two photos below show a typical cricket pitch with a badly worn surrounding area, then a different pitch with our synthetic grass surround, a terrific solution to the problem! Sensational for the cricketers, and a firm but soft surface in winter for footy or soccer.

NOTE the pitch on the right can have a soft synthetic winter cover placed over it for football season, then removed for cricket.

PROBLEM SOLVED!
