Synthetic Cricket Pitch

We supply and install two types of Synthetic Cricket Pitch:

  • A Synthetic Cricket Pitch that needs to be covered for winter and
  • An Artificial Cricket Pitch that doesn’t need to be covered for winter.

When selecting the synthetic cricket pitch for your club, or for a public sporting space you want a cricket pitch that’s got the right amount of bounce, requires the least maintenance, and of course is durable.

Maddock Sports has over 30 years of experience installing and maintaining cricket pitches, so we know the best pitch for your situation and budget.

The Standard Synthetic Cricket Pitch

Typically sports areas are used for cricket during summer, then football or soccer for winter. When playing other sports, the cricket pitch needs to be covered for two reasons:

  1. Protect the synthetic cricket pitch from damage
  2. Provide a better surface for playing the other sports

Our Standard Synthetic Cricket Pitch does need to be covered in winter, even if there are other sports to be played on it during this time.

We have two varieties of the Standard Synthetic Cricket Pitch to choose from:

Shield Synthetic Cricket Pitch

Shield is a lighter grass, it still lasts well and plays perfectly for cricket.

SuperShield Synthetic Cricket Pitch

Supershield has a higher yarn weight and is a dense grass that will last many years, even under high usage.

Both Synthetic Cricket Pitches are glued directly onto concrete. We use 9mm to 12mm short-pile polypropylene synthetic grass and double backing for extra strength.

All-Seasons Synthetic Cricket Pitch

This product is exclusive to Maddocks Sports, and does not need to be covered in winter! The patented synthetic cricket pitch surface is a hybrid pitch that serves well as a cricket pitch in summer and usable in winter for football or soccer.

All-Seasons Synthetic Cricket Pitch consists of polyethylene grass on a rubber shock pad, installed on a concrete base. The pitch surface has more bounce and plays slower than the Supershield or Shield pitches, but does not need to be covered during winter.

Using a simple conversion process, the All Seasons Synthetic Cricket Pitch provides the only hard-wicket surface that does not need to be covered for other sports.

Maddock Sports can provide easy to follow instructions or perform the conversion for you (Melbourne area only).

Synthetic Cricket Pitch Pricing

All this sounds great but the real factor is the price, right?

  • The size of the area to cover
  • The cricket pitch installation location
  • The surface the pitch will be installed on
  • Whether you have an old synthetic surface that needs to be removed and
  • Do you wish us to dispose of the old surface for you?
